Where our prices come from, and how fresh they are.

How a price gets onto the site

1. 1

   Match the exact product

Each pharmacy product page is matched to a single medicine, strength and pack size in our catalogue by staff, so like is compared with like.

2. 2

Read the price from the pharmacy's page

We read the price and any stated delivery charge from the pharmacy's own public page, following the site's published crawling rules. Pages behind a security check are checked by hand.

3. 3

   Staff publish it

A collected price stays hidden until a staff member publishes it. Every change is kept in a price history.

4. 4

   Refresh on a schedule

Each product page is re-checked daily, weekly or monthly, depending on how often that pharmacy changes its prices.

How we handle prices that may be out of date

• Checked within 24 hours: shown and ranked by price.
• Checked more than 24 hours ago: still shown and ranked by price, marked “may have changed”, with the date it was last checked.
• Out of stock: shown separately and not ranked.

Fees and totals

• The total adds the medicine price, delivery, consultation and any other required fee.
• If a fee isn't shown on the pharmacy's page, it's marked “Not listed” and the total is indicative.
• Discount codes and first-order offers aren't included, because they don't apply to everyone.

Using our data

• You may quote individual prices if you name PharmaCompare ED, link to the page the price is on and give the date it was checked.
• Copying the whole data set, or republishing it as your own price list, needs our written permission.
• Prices can change at any time. Always check the final price on the pharmacy's own website before you order.
• This is price information, not medical advice. A prescriber or pharmacist decides whether a medicine is suitable.
